7% Discount on Meadow Creek Cookers at NBBQA Trade Show

January 29th, 2010

Yes, we’ve decided to offer a 7% discount on all Meadow Creek equipment that you buy from us at the NBBQA BBQ Conference next week. This includes any cooker or BBQ trailer that you order at the show.

Not a huge deal, but as you probably know, we’re not into running big discounts all the time. We’d rather price it right and give you a good deal every day of the year!

On top of that we are giving away 15 trade show passes. According to the Conference Registration form, these passes are worth at least $35 each!

So if you’re coming to the trade show, please call Marlin at 877-248-7753 (toll-free) to reserve a pass. We’ll be happy to meet you at the door or connect with you when you arrive.

Hope to see you there.

Come See Us and the Meadow Creek Folks Near Memphis, TN!

January 22nd, 2010

I am really looking forward to spending a few days at the 2010 NBBQA National Conference. It is scheduled in Olive Branch, MS near Memphis, TN. We plan to attend the conference from Thursday, February 5 through Saturday afternoon, Lord willing.

There will be BBQ-related classes, social functions, and a trade show.

Here is what NBBQA says about the conference, “Join hundreds of friends and family from all over the country for education, networking, food, and fun in the great tradition of barbecue. From tried and true to bold and new, this conference offers the very best of industry information to a unique cross-section of the Q community.”

We will be sharing a couple booths with Meadow Creek at the trade show on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There will be some Meadow Creek equipment on display, including a TS250 BBQ Tank Smoker trailer, pig roasters, and chicken cookers.

If you are nearby, please come and check it out. We would love to meet you! It will also be a great time to meet Melvin and employee Reuben from the Meadow Creek Welding shop in New Holland, PA.

Online registration is closed, but I understand you can still purchase day passes upon arrival.

Read more about the conference and schedule on the NBBQA website.

Happy Quing,

Lavern Gingerich

PS. There will be a NICE TS120 BBQ Smoker raffled off at the convention. It has a BBQ26, trim package, and insulated fire box. This is one nice rig, ready for business!

We want to wish all of our readers and customers a happy new year! Thank you for all you’ve done to make this past year a success.

New Year’s Day is a great time to set goals in every aspect of your life and business. And if you love to smoke meat and cook outdoors, it’s also a great time to decide what steps you will take to become a better cook.

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 25th, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving from Yoder’s Smoky Mountain Barbecue!

I want to let you know that we won’t be taking calls or answering e-mails for a couple days over the holiday. But plan to open back up on Monday. It doesn’t look like we’ll be able to smoke up a turkey for Thanksgiving Day—an oven-cooked one will have to do. But if you’ve got that on your agenda, here is an article I wrote that will walk you through the steps of smoking a turkey in a BBQ smoker:

How to Smoke a Turkey in a BBQ Pit

Wishing you a great holiday as you count your blessings with family and friends.

Thank you,

Warning: Your Mouth Will Want Some of This!

November 6th, 2009

Last month our church had a picnic at the state park. We grilled chicken and hot dogs with two BBQ42 Chicken Cookers. Marlin even had his fancy 4-Bowl Stainless Steel Sink rig there. It’s got hot water and the whole works.

To learn more about the revolutionary concept of Meadow Creek’s chicken cookers, visit our Chicken Cookers page.

Check out my pictures and leave a comment to let me know how you like it.

Warning: Your mouth may start watering! Be prepared to get hungry.

I hope you enjoyed the BBQ. Let me know what you think with a comment.

An Embarrassing Confession

October 3rd, 2009

Last week we finally did our first cook on a Meadow Creek pig roaster.

After selling these cookers for almost two years and watching the pig cookers become our best sellers, Marlin was eager to get started!

We cooked 60 lbs. of chicken leg quarters, a bunch of potato wedges, and a couple boneless turkey breasts. On the side, we cooked a couple small pizzas for treats during the cook.  :-)

The BBQ turned out great in spite of some rain. Thankfully, Marlin had his canopy set up and everything went well.

Please express your thoughts by leaving a comment below.
